Stage 4 is the natural progression for older students from Stage 3 who can focus a little more seriously on developing their performance skills, ability and understanding.
Along with regular classes, Stage 4 will rehearse for a main production in a local venue at the end of the summer term. Productions will vary from musical theatre productions to plays, showcases to devised pieces.
At this level, students will, not only look at character development, spoken and sung voice, physical technique, jazz, ballet and contemporary dance, devising, mask work, improvisation and acting through song but also train in a systematical acting technique. There will also be the opportunity during the year for students to take the Trinity Guildhall grade & certificate examination in Acting & Speech at intermediate level (this is not compulsory and there is a separate admin & exam fee).
Students will learn self-motivation and self-discipline whilst developing, confidence and an understanding of team work. At this stage students are expected to demonstrate the professional discipline required in the theatre environment and will have a true insight into professional theatre and performance.
